Norma N. Nogueda, Esq.

Norma Nogueda obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Mills College in 1998. While at Mills her major was Comparative Literature, a critical scholarship dealing with the literature of two linguistic, cultural or national groups. Her focus was English and Spanish.

Ms. Nogueda obtained her Juris Doctorate from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2002. While there she interned for two summers at Ayuda, Inc, located in Washington D.C. Ayuda is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the legal rights of immigrants.
Ms. Nogueda was born in Mexico City, Mexico and immigrated to the United States as a child. Largely due to her immigrant background, she is primarily interested in immigration law. She is fluent in Spanish.

January 6, 2009 through January 22, 2009 I attended “Introductory Tap” sponsored by the Los Angeles County Bar Association Trial Advocacy Project (13.75 mcle units).

February 18, 2009 I attended “The Three Amigos Present the Definitive Family Law Update” sponsored by the Beverly Hills Bar Association Family Law Program.

March 25, 2009 I attended the seminar titled “Analyzing Income Tax Returns, sponsored by the Beverly Hills Bar Association Family Law Section.

July 15, 2009, I attended the seminar titled “Collateral Damage:  Effects of Divorce on Children and Adolescents.

August 8, 2009 I attended the Los Angeles Superior Court Litigation Program (6 mcle units).

March 6, 2010 I attended a foreclosure workshop by expert April Charney at the Univesity of La Verne College of Law.

May 13 through May 16, 2010, I attended the Woman’s Trial Boot Camp, sponsored by Three Sisters, LLP in Palm Springs, California.

July 27, 2010, I attended an all-day seminar by Amstar Litigation Support titled “Foreclosure Defense – Recession Proof Your Practice” (6.5 mcle units).

December 3, 2010, 2010, I attended the 7th Annual Bankruptcy Ethics Symposium sponsored by the bankruptcy section of the Federal Bar Association and the Los Angeles Chapter of the Federal Bar Association.

January 26, 2011, I attended the Pasadena State Bar Association seminar titled “The New World of Evidentiary Objections under Family Code 217 – Do’s and Dont’s.

March 10, 2011 I attended the seminar titled “Dependency counsel Training Program 201:  Using Witnesses to Build Your Case sponsored by the University of San Diego School of Law (6.75 mcle units).

March 30, 2011 I attended the seminar “Discover the Critical New Changes in Domestic Violence with Judge Scott Gordon, sponsored by the Pasadena Bar Association Family Law Section (1 mcle unit).

From May 12, 2011 through May 15, 2010, I attended the Second Annual Woman’s Trial Boot Camp, sponsored by Three Sisters, LLP in Palm Springs, California.  This three day seminar is facilitated and run by Joane Garcia-Colson, Fredilyn Sison, and Mary Peckham.

September 28, 2011, I attended a seminar titled “Contempt” by Stephen Kolodny, Esq., sponsored by the Pasadena Bar Association Family Law Section. 1 hour mcle.

December 14, 2011, I attended a seminar titled “New Developments in Family Law and the Courts” sponsored by the Pasadena Bar Association Family Law Section.  1 hour mcle.

May 19, 2012, I attended the 44th Annual Family Lase Symposium, sponsored by the Los Angeles County Bar Association Family Law Section, for which I received 6.25 CLE credit.

December 19, 2012, I attended a seminar titled “2013 Changes Are Coming – What You Can Expect by the Pasadena Bar Association Family Law section, for which I received one (1) MCLE credit.

March 29, 2012, I attended a seminar titled “Trial Advocacy in the Post Elkins Era, by the Pasadena Bar Association Family Law Section, for one (1) MCLE credit.

From May 18, 2013 through May 25, 2013, I attended the Houston Family Law Trial Institute at the South Texas College of Law.  The institute is taught by the leading family law litigators and family law judges from the entire country.
